This consultation is all about you! Our experienced chiropractor will take a thorough history of your complaint, looking to gain an understanding of your problem, the impact it may be having and the goals you’d like to achieve with care.

From there, we will perform an in-depth assessment, assessing your joint & muscle function, neurological & orthopaedic assessment, spinal & postural analysis, and referral for diagnostic imaging (if clinically indicated).

Your chiropractor will have an open & transparent discussion around the nature of your condition and the treatment options available to you.

More often than not, your chiropractor will start your care with a multi-modal treatment approach, this can include a combination of soft tissue therapy, chiropractic adjustments, dry needling and rehabilitation. Aiming to get you back on track as quickly as possible.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Chiropractic?

Chiropractic is an allied health profession that oversees the diagnosis and management of an array of musculoskeletal conditions, most notably of the spine and head. Chiropractors may use a variety of non-surgical and non-pharmaceutical treatment strategies, including but not limited to spinal adjustments, soft tissue therapy, dry needling, rehabilitation and exercise therapy, postural and lifestyle advice.

More and more, evidence supports early referral and assessment of musculoskeletal pain patients to an appropriately qualified musculoskeletal clinician, such as a chiropractor. Chiropractors are not only trained to treat musculoskeletal pain, they are also trained to facilitate a proactive health approach, lifestyle advice, rehabilitation and patient education.

Members of the general public usually seek chiropractic care for TMJ pain, low back pain, neck pain and headaches, and more increasingly, for general health and wellbeing.

While many of the physiological mechanisms behind chiropractic care are still being studied, here are the benefits that been shown:

  • Reflex analgesia (pain relief)
  • Improved body awareness (proprioception)
  • Improved vertebral motion
  • Improved postural stability
  • Reduced stiffness
  • Dedicated and understanding chiropractors, health professionals and support staff.
  • Multiple treatment options available, suited to your needs and resources.
  • Open weekdays and weekends, morning and evening appointments available.
  • Experienced and knowledgeable team of chiropractors available.
  • Private health insurance rebates available.

A chiropractic appointment can be bulk billed by medicare for those with eligible chronic disease management (CDM) or EPC plans from their GP. However please note, there sometimes can be a gap payment of the difference between the appointment cost and the medicare rebate.

As with all health treatments there is always an inherent risk. However, the majority of adverse reactions are typically mild in nature such as muscular soreness and discomfort. Moderate to severe adverse reactions are rare following Chiropractic treatment, mainly due to the non-invasive, non-surgical approach Chiropractic care provides. Normally however, most people experience a release local to the adjustment site, with a reduction in pain and improvement in mobility. Our Chiropractors will discuss in-depth the appropriate treatment options with you prior to administering any therapies.

While we accept walk-in appointments, we cannot always guarantee an appointment on arrival, we normally suggest organising an appointment in advance to avoid disappointment. Please call us on (03) 4250 9865 or use the online booking system.
In Australia, privately practicing chiropractors and physiotherapist have essentially the same scope of practice and guidelines to follow, it is then up to the health professionals guiding values and principles that determine how they might practice.

Traditionally, the primary chiropractic principle is based on the bodies ability to self heal and regulate itself, with the nervous system acting as the mother board or control centre of the body. Thus, promoting better nervous system and spine health can help promote improved overall health.
